Theta Nu History
On March 2, 1974, thirteen illustrious women chartered the Theta Nu Chapter of
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Those thirteen young women encountered immense adversity
while establishing the chapter in the seventies on a predominantly white campus. It is our duty and
privilege to follow in the footsteps of these women continuing to strive in an effort to enact social change.
The job will never be completed; however, we will continue to sponsor programs and service projects that
reflect the interests of our national body, the needs of the community, and the visions of our beloved
founders.
